Abstract:
I-Sinar, a programme initiated by the Employee Provident Fund (EPF, KWSP), involves a savings withdrawal scheme that is intended to help members who face retrenchment or loss of income, continue with day-to-day life during a pandemic crisis. Eligible EPF investors may withdraw up to 10% of their savings in their Account 1 with a minimum balance of RM 100. Many Malaysians sought this opportunity and made I-Sinar withdrawals in order to cover daily expenses during the pandemic. It is essential that the user (one who has withdrawn their savings by using the I-Sinar facility) practice proper financial management in order to avoid cash leakage. Therefore, the objective of this research is to study the behaviour of I-Sinar users amongst UniSHAMS staff members. Both quantitative and qualitative methods were used in this research. This research intends to provide guidelines on intelligent and thrifty money management techniques for the use of UniSHAMS staff members.
