Takaful is an Islamic insurance system that follows Shariah rules, avoiding prohibited elements such as interest, gambling, and uncertainty. Waqf involves transferring property ownership for the benefit of Allah SWT, allowing its use without physical loss to the beneficiary. Presently, only four takaful companies provide the chance for takaful participants to endow death compensation through waqf instruments, namely, Takaful Ikhlas Family Berhad, Etiqa Takaful Berhad, Zurich Takaful Malaysia Berhadand Great Eastern Takaful Berhad. Besides problems in managing waqf, the takaful companies also vary in their waqf contributions to religious institutions, and they often overlook the concept of Maqasid Shariah. Hence, this study was carried out to critically analyze the waqf death compensation through takaful products in Malaysia according to the perspective of Maqasid Shariah. This study adopts a qualitative method, collecting data from interviews with selected takaful operators and secondary published sources. The data was then analyzed using content analysis. The study found that waqf-takaful death compensation offered by takaful companies in Malaysia adheres to Maqasid Shariah. However, these companies face challenges in applying Maqasid Shariah to their waqf-takaful death compensation products. The study proposes that emphasizing Maqasid Shariah could improve waqf-takaful death compensation offerings in Malaysia.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) consist of 17 goals put forward by the United Nations (UN) to be achieved in 2030 as a global development and human welfare agenda. In implementing an integrated and balanced social, economic, and environmental agenda, waqf and takaful which are among Islamic social financial mechanisms are seen as relevant and have the potential to help in achieving the 17 SDGs goals in Malaysia. Meanwhile, recently, some takaful operating companies in Malaysia have started practicing the waqf activity of death compensation through takaful product. However, the implementation standards of the concept of death compensation in the form of waqf are seen to be inconsistent, lack of Maqasid Shariah element and have flaws in waqf management. One of the factors in this scenario is because the waqf contributions developed by each takaful operating company to religious institutions are different from each other. Therefore, this study was conducted to explore the potential application of SDGs in waqf-takaful death compensation product in Malaysia. This study adopts a qualitative design via literature reviews and semi-structured interviews utilizing several informants of takaful operating companies. The research data was analyzed using the content analysis method. The results of the study concluded that death compensation waqf product offered through takaful operating companies need to be aligned with the SDGs as it has the potential to help Malaysia in achieving the 17 goals of the SDGs. In addition, the sustainability of waqf benefits through waqf-takaful death compensation can also make a positive contribution to the socio-economic development of Malaysia. As an implication, this study urges takaful operating companies in Malaysia to include SDGs as one of the main agendas in order to refine waqf-takaful death compensation product offered in the existing market.

"Marriage Course" or "Pre-Marriage Course" is an expression that we often hear before every bride-to-be step into the wedding gate. The marriage course is a mandatory course that must be attended by every Muslim couple before establishing a legal marriage in Malaysia. Marriage course is usually held for two days and aims to provide fruitful information to future husbands and wives before both of them enter into marriage, so that they are well-prepared later. Although this course has been made mandatory for Muslim couples in Malaysia, there are still many married couples who get divorced after sailing through the world of marriage. A few parties also blamed the marriage course provider and linked it as one of the factors of divorce among Muslim couples. Hence, studies related to the marriage course and divorce among Muslim couples are critical to be studied further in Malaysia. This study aims to explore the trend of literatures related to marriage course and divorce in Malaysia. This study is a qualitative design by nature. The researchers have collected the data via library research method and analyzed the data using content analysis technique. The result of the study proves that there are many studies that have been carried out related to marriage course and divorce among Muslim couples in Malaysia, but yet, all of these studies are more concerned about Islamic legal aspects, court procedures, psychology, counseling, fatwas as well as causes and consequences of divorce. Not many studies have been carried out related to marriage course and divorce involving quantitative research design with various demographics of respondents on a large scale which give more effective impacts and solutions at the Malaysian level.

This study focuses on the literature review and history of zakat, specifically in the state of Perlis, Malaysia. From a historical perspective, this process involves the management of zakat for over a century, passed down from generation to generation until the birth of Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs), which has successfully brought positive changes in the management of zakat in Perlis. This study adopts a qualitative research design via library research and historiography. The data is obtained from literature reviews and historical sources related to zakat in Perlis as well as MAIPS, and is analysed using content analysis and document analysis. This study reveals that there have been very limited studies specifically conducted on zakat in Perlis or MAIPs. This study also found that the management of zakat by MAIPS has gone through various phases of metamorphosis over time, in line with MAIPs' direction plan. As a result, the distributed zakat has been able to somehow improve the lives of the zakat recipients in Perlis.
